Welcome to my website! My aim is to share my passion for photography with you via a portfolio of my photos, which I have taken mainly since the early decades of this century. I currently use a Fujifilm X-T5 mirrorless camera for my photographic work. I have also used a Nikon film camera during the 1980s and a Pentax DSLR camera during the early years of the new century. Several sets of photographs from those prior camera are included in this website.
Most of my photographic work focuses on landscapes, urban scenes, and tours of selected important sites such as churches and museums. My next goal is to work on portraits and weddings. I recently photographed a wedding at a local church in Philadelphia. I recently decided to work with the Adobe photo editing programs (Lightroom, Photoshop). Thus far, I am enjoying these programs and plan to make greater use of them. I used the Adobe programs to prepare the photos on this website.
I look forward to and welcome your comments regarding this site. I would relish new relationships with fellow photographers, both amateur and professional. I currently live in Philadelphia, which has a long history of being one of my nation's artistic centers. The city will be an active participant in the upcoming festivities relating to the 250th anniversary of the founding of my nation. Look forward to a few updates to my portfolio that will relate to my city's festivities.
I am currently working on several photo books relating to selected churches in Philadelphia, New York, and Washington. I have already published a photo book for Saint's Clement's Church in Philadelphia and Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, New York. You may order a copy by going to www.blurb.com. When you reach the Blurb site, go to bookstore and then go on to photography. Then do a search (click the magnifying glass on the upper right corner) of me (Thomas Alton). You will see the books on Saint Clement's and Saint Paul's as well as future books as they become available.
If you have a favorite image you wish to have printed, please let me know. I use Red River Polar Matte 230 and UtraPro Luster 300 papers for my prints, along with a Canon Pro 310 printer. I use 5 x 7 and 8 x 10 size papers. Please let me know if you should desire prints. The cost is $3 for the smaller size and $ 5 for the larger size plus postage.
